chocolate is my first love

I really love chocolates! Every creamy bite of it makes me happy. It also helps me relieve stress, especially after I’m done with a rush work project. It is proven as a valuable source of energy. It is considered as one of the most famous gift given to show affection of love; aside from flowers of course!

The term “chocolate” originated from an Aztec word “xocolatl” meaning “bitter water”. Chocolates came from a small tropical tree called Theobroma cacao. Theobroma is a Greek word which means “food for the gods”.

Do you know that chocolates can benefit our health? According to research, it can help lessen the complication of certain deceases such as high blood pressure, tumors and pre-menstrual syndromes. It is also proven to soften and moisturize our skin when used for spa treatment. Would you believe that it can also help prevent cavities? A research in Japan stated that, the caffeine present in chocolates has the same quality similar with the chemical used to harden tooth enamel thus preventing tooth decay.

I personally prefer eating plain chocolates. It gives me a heavenly feeling. But my sister gets goose bumps whenever she eats the plain ones, so she prefers those with rice crispies or wafers. My mom loves those with almonds and macadamia nuts. Whichever kind you choose, remember to always eat chocolates in moderation. After all, too much of anything is always bad.
